Smita D. Talukdar
Her Story

Three Roles. One Relentless Purpose.

Smita D. Talukdar is many things at once — and she has never apologised for any of them. She is a published author whose fiction confronts child abuse. She is a poet whose words map the terrain of womanhood. She is a journalist trained in the rigour of truth-telling. And she is a digital marketing professional who has spent over a decade helping brands find their voice.

Born and raised in the culturally rich hills of Shillong, Meghalaya, Smita's writing bears the imprint of Northeast India — its landscapes, its silences, its stories waiting to be told. Her MA in Journalism and Mass Communication from the prestigious North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) gave her the tools; her life gave her the material.

She started writing poetry in 2008 — an act of private need that became a public vocation. Today, her two published books sit on shelves across India and are available globally on Amazon, Apple Books, and Google Play.
